From Tom Haudricourt's blog post, Gagne had the following to say this morning about his performance on Monday:
"I just wasn't throwing strikes. There were a lot of outside things but it's not that big of a deal."
"My stuff was good. My arm felt good. But, if you walk people, they're going to hit it. Things weren't going my way. It was hard for me to find the strike zone."
Those outside distractions were apparently his goggles fogging up and the mound being a little slippery.
Browsing the web, Gagne appears to have had a hockey injury in the past and doesn't like to wear contacts. This accounts for why he wears the glasses... but what about the fogging?
Apparently, the Brewers have a spray that they can put on the glasses to prevent fogging. So, either they didn't think to apply it on Monday, or it didn't work very well. Who knows.
However, my best guess is they didn't apply the spray (example seen in photo below, click on the photo for the link). If you're interested, you can get some for $10.50 with shipping on ebay. Some possible solutions for Gagne's goggles fogging up are wearing glasses with higher nose pads that create some air circulation underneath. Either way, it looks like Gagne was somewhat concerned with them, and look for something to be changed.
