- Bill Schroeder never ceased to amaze me. He called that Corey Hart was going to steal third today. It was right after Hart walked, and stole second with no outs.
- Cubs fans always claim they are so much more involved , faithful, and loyal than every other fanbase. Needless to say they didn't even sell out the place today, and most disappointing was that the place absolutely cleared out in the 8th inning today. In a 4 run baseball game, the place was baron. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
- The wise Mr. Piniella is confusing me immensely. First, he makes Wood the closer. Second, he says he's going to bat Fukudome 2nd against lefties (he bats 5th against righties). Third, he puts Howry in for the 8th and into the 9th inning of a game they are losing by 4 runs. Mop up duty for their best or second-best reliever. Doesn't make much sense to me.
- Even though I've never been the biggest Soup fan, I have to give him his due for one thing he impressed me on today. He struck Fukudome out after a 3-1 count, with two straight changeups. Not too bad their Soup, not too bad at all.
